Looks like the gunners have made a very good free signing.

I seem to have forgotten the teams - but I know most of you will recall the goal from the indirect within the area last week - as a result of the back-pass. The only thing which concerns me is this: Many indirects are taken from odd places on the pitch - but no bid deal. The rules do however specify the location of the ball when in the area. The Ref simply dropped the ball - not expecting action. No one can verify if the ball was correctly positioned. Ah yes it was Arsenal of course.

Gallas says a player in the team has caused others to come to him with complaints and that this player is 6 years younger than him. Robin Van Persie, Emmanuel Eboue, Eduardo and Bacary Sagna are all 6 years younger. Eduardo is out so it can't be him, Gallas also mentioned he broke up an argument during the Tottenham game and had a word with the player in question during another match but got insults in return. In last night's game between Arsenal and Porto; Arsenal had about 9 corners and scored once from a corner kick. I have been looking for a source of football stats that would have inform me as to the ratio of corner kicks to goals from them.

What's going on? Why is ITV showing the Liverpool game on ITV1 and the Arsenal game on Setanta. I thought ITV got the contract to show games on the free ITV channels, not on the Setanta pay channel.

Mikael Silvestre has signed for Arsenal, Wenger sees the 31 year old former France international adding experience to the centre of defence but also as cover for Gael Clichy. Silvestre has dropped down the pecking order at Man United and has suffered with injury over the last two season's so not the usual Wenger signing. Wenger has a policy of one year contracts for players over 30 or has that changed, it would seem a bit strange to sign Silvestre for just one season.
