Default Premier League Division 2

Kevin Keegan was quoted as saying the Premier League is more like two leagues with the top four in the first division and Newcastle being in the “Premier League Division 2”.

It’s interesting to look at the table if Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool went of to start “The Euro League” or formed “The Super Premier League”

Everton look set to take the title with David Moyes side holding on to top spot for most of the season, only Martin O’Neal’s Aston Villa are still in the title race and could snatch it off them on the final day of the season. Blackburn and Portsmouth are assured Champions League football while Manchester City (5th) and Tottenham (League Cup) look forward to the UEFA Cup.

Newcastle and Wigan finished mid table both on the up and looking to improve next season while the rest will be looking over there shoulders at the top quality sides coming up from the Championship.

Fulham, Reading and Birmingham are looking at the drop and Derby (that's got to hurt) County will be replaced by new Division 2 challengers West Brom, Stoke City and the play off winners.
