Wayne Rooney's three match international ban
The FA will appeal against Wayne Rooney's three match international ban that would put him out of the Euro 2012 group phase.
Should they have been more lenient, should all card's red and yellow be revoked for the finals.

looked like it was just a desperate challenge for the ball, should have been a yellow card.

for soccer sportsmanship okay, but the referee also do not carelessly give a red card for Rooney pity

The ban has now been reduced to 2 games, Rooney will be able to play in the third game of the Euro 2012 group phase against the Ukraine.
As for the cards debate how about cards for the regional stages of tournaments count only in future regional stages and cards in the finals end with the final.
