England's World Cup injury jinx, not again!

England captain Rio Ferdinand is out of the World Cup squad following an injury to his knee during the first training session in South Africa.
Fabio Capello said "It may well be ligaments, we will have to wait and see" but following a scan and a second opinion Rio has been ruled out of the tournament.

Steven Gerrard will take over as England captain and Michael Dawson has been called up as a replacement for Ferdinand.

England had not been the only squad knowing the pre-tournament injuries. And they still have a good team enough to be one of the favourites of the competition.
