  1. All the talk with out the walk from Spurs

After spending in excess of 69million pounds Spurs have once again flattered to deceive with only one point in four games. In each of the games it is quite simple to see that the team is "soft" through the middle, they have many payers of a high technical ability but the problem with them is that they have no true high energy ball winning players. This has been the teams problem for three seasons now at least.

The latest result sees the club propping up the table much in the same manner as the way they started last season in where they finished a lowly 11th position. Unfortunately the stats are looking bleak for Spurs fans as Tottenham have a record of only one win in the month of September in each of the past five seasons.

The serious issues that must be dealt with is the fact that Zokora is the not the player required to fill the holding position that protects the centre backs. Other players that are not living up to the required standard is Michael Dawson who for 18 months has looked out of his depth and needs to be looked at whether he deserves to deputise the injury ravaged Ledley King.

Given it is only the very start of the season and the club needs to time to let their new players to adapt to the style of the English game. Ramos is under pressure make no doubt about it, the players are going to have to live up to there billing sooner rather than later.

With the likes of Modric, Dos Santos, Bentley, Pavlyuchenko, Gomes and Corluka it looks that the balance of the team is certainly not there and will take some time for them to have a better understanding of each other. One things for certain is that Tottenham are never going to be challenging the top four probably not even the top six this season.

  3. It's really a shame that despite all that effort which has been put in recent years, they still fail to deliver. A proper defensive midfielder should be bought and a good right full back as well. Too many all around players don't seem to be the right choice. Having players who can excel on a certain position is what spurs need. Players like Bale for example.

  4. Hi thanks for the comment,

I think the right back role is now covered with Alan Hutton who looks a good fearless attacking full-back and also with Vedran Corluka who has proven over the past year he is very competent player.

It is a big shame after such investment and the great support the club gets it really is just down to fine tuning and showing a bit of bite down the spine of the team.
