The good, the bad and the unexpected.
The Good: blazing sunshine, alcohol allowed in the courts, plenty of totty, beautifully landscaped grounds with Hydrangeas and Blue Salvia, live music in the outdoor bars, and a wonderfully palpable sense of occasion.
The Bad: Karlovic not making a decent match of it, ditto Ferrero, gangs of Antipodeans getting ratted and mouthing off on Murray's Mound, four quid a pint, traffic.
The unexpected: Centre Court looking like it would struggle to seat 1,500 let alone 15,000, armed forces personnel guarding the court during each break in play, no BBC commentary on the big screen, Murray's Mound sloping severely enough to leave skid marks.
Whilst it left me craving for the intensity of the footy, it was nevertheless a very good day out.
