Money doesn't make a good football team!
Isn't it great to see that Man City with all their money won't finish in the top four and won't win the champions league for at least 10 years.
But most importantly they won't have a huge global brand like Man U, or Liverpool etc.. until they have 100 years of history and success. That's what makes a great club.
I don't understand how these stupidly rich blokes can't figure out how football works! You can't buy fans...and the ones you can are idiots.
They have never managed a football team and think that just plonking in big names is what makes a team work!
And the thing about City is this season their best players have been players they probably won't think twice about selling when they try to replace them with 130 million quid signings!!? Like Ireland and Joe Hart and Sturridge! It will be such a shame when they are booted out!
But there is no chance Hughues will keep his job!george bests last lover - 23rd December 2008 - Comments

i have faith in Hughes and so far the ADUG have done it the right way by leaving all the footballing matters to the manager and players instead of trying to do it themselves like that russian idiot abramovich at chelsea. sure theyve drasrically imrpoved under his belt of money but as soon as his now up for sale club is back to the financial restrictions it was at before with Ranieri they will fall back down to a consistent 4th . Their big name players will eventually move on and age and without the money they wont be able to restock the dressing room, goodluck to them. This however is not what i see happening at Eastlands and Hughes is taking steps in the right direction with purchases of Wayne Bridge and hopefully a cdm such as Marcos Senna of Villareal or Scott Parker of West Ham. These two players are not the most world renowned in their position but they are reliable quality players who can get the job done. This shows they want to do it the right way and let the team grow and gel together with a solid core that is there now with players like Dunn, Richards, Robinho, SWP, Ireland, Johnson (when back from injury) and two great prospects for the future between the pipes with Hart and Schmeichel. The blue side of Manchester is looking very promising over the next decade even though the red side will always be the best :P
