in terms of getting into a team you either have to get spotted by someone at the club (if your very lucky) or just get in touch with teams and tell them about your footballing background.
With regards to wages, totally depends on the level of club your going to be playing for and the aspirations of the club. Many lower league teams dont even bother with contracts and sign players on non-contract terms wages will tend to be minimal and travel expenses are usually covered. Contact players, ive worked with a few at conference south level that were getting paid £2000 a week, but to be fair they were playing way below what they should of been at the time.
hope it helps,

yea i have searching the free agents, most of their salaries start from £1100 but you've to up that to closer £1600 to get their interest...which is still pricey.

I'm a non-league footballer at Eastbourne Borough in the Blue Square Premier. We are one of only 2 clubs in that league not to be full time! Even though it is a non-professional league, all but a few of the players that I know at EB live entirely off their football income, which ranges from around £250 a week for players graduating from the reserves and youth, to around £700 as the top earner, plently to live off. As we only train 2 evenings a week presently, there is plently of time for the players to have other jobs, and there are definitely a few who fill their spare time labouring, building, plastering and the like to suplement their income!

It`s all very interesting because I was accepted for a trial for a lvl 6 team (Conference South), and when asked if the clubs budget can sustain a foreign player for a salary to cover accommodation and food, the answer was "the kind of money we would be offering would be hard to pay accommodation and eat."

im currently playing for a league two academy and playing a bit of very low semi - pro in the south spartan midland league, some boys dont even get paid, when your man of the match you get about £20, i know the captain of a southern conference team and he gets paid £500 a week and that includes the fact he coaches the academy they run 3 times a week. but thats the captain, if you just start in the conference it could be 150-250 depending on your ability. in the ryman some people might only get 50 quid a game but it will go up to £200ish in the prem. to get into these clubs you have to get scouted/recommended or you can apply just by emailing the clubs your Footballers cv which should contain previous clubs, playing expercience, your height, weight, reference number etc and if they think you are at the required standard they will ask you to come in for some trainings, if you have had a pro history you can even try going for some pro clubs by doing the same.
