Mikael Silvestre has signed for Arsenal, Wenger sees the 31 year old former France international adding experience to the centre of defence but also as cover for Gael Clichy.
Silvestre has dropped down the pecking order at Man United and has suffered with injury over the last two season’s so not the usual Wenger signing. Wenger has a policy of one year contracts for players over 30 or has that changed, it would seem a bit strange to sign Silvestre for just one season.
