I have supported wham since 1958 as an 11 year old. Living in Scotland for the last 6years I do not see many live mayches a season but always watch them on the box.
Whilst football has changed a great deal over 50 years with better levels of fitness, better diet and management/training skills there is still no answer to players with pace.
If wham are to progress next season we need to retain Dean Ashton, Parker etc. and jetison the older premier league players that were signed last year who are there for one last big payday on the treatment tables.
Our defence looked fairly sound but without pace up front Ashtons craft will be wasted. Maybe Bellamy could be the answer but he always gives me the impression that he has not looked after his physical condition over previous years. Of course Torres would be OK!! How about Shaun W-Phillips he could be a casualty of Kremlin power at the bridge or Martins from NUFC.
Over the years hammers fans have been deprived of success. Pace was a factor in our cup winners cup triumph when a young winger John Sissons set the competition alight with his performances.
So, Curbs buy some pace and entertain us as we used to be. you never know we might even win something, fortune favours the bold.

Chelsea are said to be making a £50m bid for Torres, so you’ll probably need to sell a few players to compete. Not sure about Bellamy, never seems to fit in.
I think Shaun Wright Phillips is a good bet, can’t see him staying on the sidelines for another season and if he wants to stay in contention for England he’s got to play more, would be a big star at West Ham. Martins would score a lot more given the right service, SWP.
